INDORE: Microsoft India plans to make Indore the next destination for its Digital Experience Centre after Vadodara. Centre aims at teaching educational institutes use of cloud computing, thereby promoting Microsoftplatform Edu-Cloud.
Microsoft India Business Development, director, Manohar Hotchandani said soon they would be providing Edu-cloud in many educational institutions in Indore.

Speaking to TOI, Hotchandani said recently company announced to open a digital center in Gujarat, and now it plans centre in MP in collaboration with VSN International. "In MP we are evaluating Indore’s market and we found education is a big segment. Therefore we are planning to bring Edu-cloud and are in talks with various educational institutes. We have not finalized any date still it would be in city soon," he said.
"This technology can help educational institutions in organizing parent-teacher meet, students would be able to share their notes, mark-sheets can be uploaded on Edu-cloud," he said.
Managing director, VSN International Amit Bidasaria said, "There are few customers in Indore for Edu-cloud, but the environment for such a technology is not yet created. Therefore Microsoft would soon organise workshops on how to use the technology." This technology would help educational institutions to adopt technology that would prepare future generations for mobile-first, cloud-first world.
Director, Indore Institute of Science and Technology, Joy Banerjee said, “As a part of this initiative, Microsoft's latest innovative cloud-computing seems very useful for institutions like us in enhancing digital learning and teaching how to access digital content and free access to Office 365. But the only thing is that the system is quite expensive. We require an economical technology which could be easy to access and upgrade as per time."

Professor of Altius College Saveen Jain said, "Technology has been adopted in the college but is not accessible still. Such digital experiences would help prepare students with 21st century skills."
Meanwhile, Hotchandani at a press conference said Microsoft is targeting small and medium-sized enterprises to expand the customer base of its cloud-based services in the state. "Madhya Pradesh is among the 10 states having a huge number of small and medium-sized businesses. So we want to provide cloud-based services ‘Microsoft Cloud’ to these businesses at economical rate which would help enhance business efficiency, achieve their business goals and make use of self-provisioned clod solutions to meet their IT needs," he said.
